Reading the Landscapes of East Asia Seminar
The Five College Center for East Asian Studies received funding from the United States Japan Foundation (USJF) and the Massachusetts Geographic Alliance (MGA) to conduct a series entitled “Reading the Landscapes of East Asia.” The seminar provided teachers with content, concepts and materials for illustrating the physical and human geography of Japan and Korea through literature. With time spent on social studies declining, it is hoped that these strategies will allow for ways to “fit in” more teaching about East Asia. The Center is grateful for the support of the United States Japan Foundation and the Massachusetts Geographic Alliance.
